Srinivas Krishnagopal received his Master’s in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in 1985, and his Ph. D. in accelerator physics from Cornell University in 1990, where he worked with Bob Siemann on the beam-beam interaction. After a postdoc at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, he joined the Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore, India, in 1993, where he worked on building free-electron lasers and photocathode linacs. Since January 2008, he is at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, working on high-intensity proton linacs and on theory and simulation in beam physics. Simultaneously he has a joint position at the Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai, where he teaches.
